Final Writing Assessment

Completion requirements
Due: Sunday, 3 December 2023, 10:59 PM

There are 2 questions in this Assessment.  Some notes:

  • Tip:  Write out the written portions on a separate document, then cut and paste them into the Exam.  
  • Focus on using vocabulary and verb tenses that have been covered in Chapters 6-10. 
  • Save these scripts, as they are the basis for your recording in the Final Speaking Assessment.
  • You can make things up if you like.  I just want to see you use the language correctly.

Question 1:

Write the information required to answer the questions below in Spanish. Do not include the questions, just your answers. Write the information in complete sentences in paragraph form. 


Prompts:

 

1.  Your Childhood

Answer the following questions about your childhood - use the imperfect tense:

      • What were you like?
      • What did you used to do for fun? Is it similar to what you do in your free time now?
      • What was your favorite class in school? What was your least favorite class?
      • Who was your best friend? What did you like to do together?
      • What was your favorite toy/game (juguete/juego). Give a short description of it. 


2.  Vacation

You and your family just got back from an amazing vacation!  You are telling your best friend all about what you and your family did.  Use the preterit tense and a variety of verbs: 

      • Where did you go for your vacation? How did you get there?
      • What are some fun activities you did while you were there?
      • What are a few places you went to while traveling? (Shops, stores, restaurants, etc)
      • Who went with you on your vacation?
      • What was something that you ate while traveling?
      • What was your favorite part of your vacation? What did you not like about it?



You will be graded using this rubric:

Question 2:

Write the information required to answer the questions below in Spanish. Do not include the questions, just your answers. Write the information in complete sentences in paragraph form. 


Prompts:



1.  Teenage Years

Whether you are living them now or you have already survived them, the teen years can be rough.  Use the subjunctive in your answers to the following:

      • What are two opinions/pieces of advice that you heard/hear often from others in your own teenage years?
      • What are two opinions/pieces of advice that you would give yourself if you could before you entered your teenage years.


2.  Your Future

You are writing a school paper and have been asked to imagine yourself two and ten years from now. Answer the following questions using the future tense for each time period. (Use the model: En dos aƱos, yo...)

      • What will you be like?
      • What will you do? (as in career or studies)
      • Where will you be living?
      • What will you achieve?


3.  The Lottery

Talk about five things that you would do if you won a million dollars in the lottery. 

      • Be creative!  
      • Don't reuse any verbs.  
      • Use the conditional tense:
