A. Read the cover page of Libro Libre, Capítulo Ocho (pg. 276). Then, respond in Spanish in paragraph form to all the following questions. (Do your best! But don't get stressed! Looking for content & effort, not perfect grammar.)

B. Respond to one of the following, in English:
1. Is there a sense of community in your neighborhood? Why is the barrio important in the life of an Hispanic city? Why is there a central plaza in L.A. cities? Which is the oldest subway in L.A and which is the most impressive? Research the layout and places of Bogotá and describe any similarities or differences you find to your own community.
2. Research and present with pictures and captions, el Zócalo in Mexico City, the Plaza Mayor of Salamanca and Madrid, Spain, la Plaza de España in Sevilla, la Plaza de Armas in Lima and Cuzco, Peru and Santiago, Chile, and la Plaza de Mayo in Buenos Aires Argentina. Include the subway system in Santiago, Chile, Guadalajara, Mexico, Caracas, Venezuela, Lima, Peru, Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Seville, Spain. (May attach in a Power Point)3. Research and present the national flower of Colombia, Juan Valdez; who he was and what he represents, Totó and "cumbia" music, and Francisco de Paula Santander, his influence in the independence of Latin America from Spain particularly in his role as president of "la República de Nueva Ganada".
4. Choose a Mission that is active in Bolivia, Peru or Chile. Research and give a short history of their work then and now. What do they see as the future of the church in this country? How are they meeting the needs of the people?
