View The Attachment Theory: How Childhood Affects Life. This theory was studies by Bowlby. Mary Ainsworth in 1970 also researched about children and bonding. She identified types of parent attachment called secure, avoidant, resistant and disorganized. The healthiest is called secure attachment. (Spielman, pp. 309-310).
