To improve your short term memory, you can do things such as taking good notes, with pictures that you create in your mind, and breaking big pieces of information into smaller chunks. Also make sure that you focus on active listening. Make lists where you are sure to focus on the beginning and end of the list. If you recite, and teach the information you learned to somebody else, it helps you retain all of that information. Make sure you stay organized while you do all of this, and take care of your body. Get plenty of rest, water, and food to nourish your body to be the best it can be. If you use all of these suggestions regularly, you will find it will help you work on your short term memory.

Some environmental experiences that have impacted my intelligence are my supportive parents and teachers. They have helped me while I have struggled or fallen behind on work, and pushed me to become the best version of myself that I can be.

Out of the eight intellegences, I think I most fit with bodily kinesthetic, naturalistic, and interpersonal. I am a very active person, and when I exercise it boosts my mental health and makes me more productive. I know what my body needs to function correctly. I think I am also naturalistic because I love learning about how the world and the environment work, and I care deeply about Earth's well being. I think I could also be classified as interpersonal because I understand other people well, and I know how to communicate with others well. I get along with most everyone because I know how to contribute ton the well being of others. I don't think I am very logical-mathematical. I have a hard time when it comes to logic and mathematics, and I excel more in things like history and English.

Hey Sarah!

Your response was great and I found it very interesting. I love the different methods you included on how to improve one’s short term memory, which will be beneficial to a student who spends time studying. I also think it is very important to take good notes in class and find it helpful to break down my notes into smaller pieces or chunks to help retain the information in a more efficient manner, this method is referred to as chunking (Spielman p. 275). I love your self-analysis on the eight intelligences. I think it’s so cool how we aren’t categorized to one special intelligence, we all can find ourselves in each one in some way, shape, or form. Similar to you, I also lack logical-mathematical intelligence and seem to struggle more in math and science subjects than english or history.

Hello Sara! Thank you for making some really great points! I could not agree with you more. Taking good notes is vital to substantial performance in the school environment, and even in the workplace too! It is even proven that if we write things down, use special note-taking techniques, etc. we are bound to remember things easier, quicker, better, and more often. Our brains usually forget things just as we think them, so this is an excellent way to stay in tap with our short-term memories. Your second point is also brilliant, I talked about something very similar in my discussion post. The environment helps mold us into the people we are, and why our nature is important, nurturing plays a vital role in our growth, and taking things to the next level, not only in academics but in real-world scenarios. Thank you for sharing! Look forward to hearing from you again.
