1. There are various tactics that we as students, and people can use to improve our short-term memory. As a student who strives to do well, it is vital to tap into these tactics to further performance in and out of the academic realm. "You can use memory-enhancing strategies. One strategy is a rehearsal or the conscious repetition of information to be remembered" (Craik & Watkins, 1973).
2. While I believe that the nature of one is important, I believe that the nurture aspect of this statement is more valuable. I have seen substantial effects in my life and in the lives of others in a good healthy environment. If you do not have a good strong basic foundation to start off upon, then there is no room for growth to occur. I believe that working, and or being raised in a good environment contributes greatly to performance in school and other work-related settings. "The environmental influences provide both stability and change to trigger the manifestation of cognitive abilities (Bartels, Rietveld, Van Baal, & Boomsma, 2002). Being nurtured allows for better focus, and work ethic because we all must rest before we can be productive.
3. I think that I struggle most with the "Logical-Mathematical" side of intelligence. While I do thoroughly enjoy deep conversations, and consideration of topics I can only tolerate it for a certain amount of time. Logic is not my strong suit, and neither is that of mathematics. I have struggled in math since early childhood, and understand that I need extra assistance when coming to that area of my learning process.
