1. What is the value and what are the dangers of labeling individuals with psychological disorder?
2. Why do you think it is difficult for some people to go to a psychiatrist (a medical doctor that specializes in mental disorders, psychiatric illnesses etc.) or a counselor to get help yet the same individuals are open to going to a medical doctor to get help for a physical illness?
3. Which mental disorder in Chapter 15 would you find it hard to work with if you were a counselor or a teacher and why?
4. View the video on Suicide first before answering this question. What are some symptoms a person may show that can give you a clue that a person may be thinking about suicide? What can you do if someone is talking about hurting him/herself or wanting to die?
